The Ku Klux Klan

Ku Klux Klan 

The task was to write a text about the Ku Klux Klan. I chose this task because I find the Ku Klux Klan interresting. I think it is interresting because i would like to get a clear view how it was to live like an african american in the south part of the Unitet States in the 1960´s. 


The Ku Klux Klan is a group of people with members who are extremely racist. The hate black people because the black people were able to work for less money than the white people, so alot of white people lost their jobs. Because of this they saw black people as working animals without feelings.The Ku Klux Klan dressed up in white uniforms with a spiss white hat or hoods. The Ku Klux Klan is all about spreading the word about how bad black people are, and they did alot of killing as well. The Ku Klux Klan would for example wait outside a "black" church, and attack the black people when they came out of the church. They killed black people in many other ways as well, but this method was kind of special,  beacause they got alot of black people at the same time. This method was showed in the movie Missisipi Burning.  The Ku Klux Klan still exists today, but not in the same way as in the 60's. There is not as much killing that it used to be, but they are still spreading the word about how they feel about black people.

Nyhetsvakt

Barrack Obama har holdt talen State of the Union. State of the Union er en tale som presidenten i USA må holde årlig. State of the Union betyr Rikets Tilstand. Talen handler vært år om hvordan året i USA har vært. Dette året var hovedtemaet økonomi. Og Obama sa at de rike må betale mer skatt.
Talen i år var en stor suksess, og Obama er en veldig sterk taler.

Pollution:
The text showes how we treat the planet. And the text showes that we do not treat the planet well enough. Some people tries to be environmentally friendly, but there are more people who does not care about the environment, then people who do. I think that we should treat the planet earth better, so the people who will live in 50 or 100 years will enjoy the same nature and the the same fresh air that we enjoy today.

Wildlife:
Animals and plants give us much of what we need to survive, much of our food and clothing comes from animals. One of the threats against the wildlife is too much hunting. Too much hunting can lead to that a rase can die out.
Another threat against wildlife is destroying animals habitats. A good example is the rainforests, if we can't manage too save the rainforestsm our hole climate could be threatened.

Arne Næss:
Arne Næss was a norwegian philosoph, born the 27th of January 1912, and died the 12th of January. Arne was against killing animals and was very environmentally friendly. Arne was against pollution and worked hard to stop it.

Lennie

In this text I am going to write alot about Lennie. I chose to write about Lennie because I think that he is the most interesting guy in the book, Of mice and men.

George and Lennie are two bindle bums that are traveling around the country trying to get a job at a ranch. They get a job at a ranch and Lennie gets in alot og trouble, and at last he is killed.

Lennies Looks

Lennie was a great big man with a formless face and eyes with no special color. He had a slow and heavy way of walking, with his arms hanging by the sides.

Lennies Personality

Lennie lived in California around the 1930`s with his best friend George. We learned early in the book that Lennie is not very smart, he is acctually kind of stupid. An example of his stupidity is when he drinks alot of water from a pool that he did not know was safe to drink from. In the beginning you get an impression that Lennie is just stupid, but later in the book you kind of get a feeling that he is mentaly ill. Like when he killed that little pup and killed Curley’s wife, you get a strong feeling that he may be mentaly ill. And later in the book George tells the other guys on the ranch, that every time Lennie does something wrong, he never ment to be mean. And when you read the part when Lennie kills Curley’s wife, it seems like he really didn’t mean to hurt her. He only wanted her to stop screaming, so George wouldn’t find out that he killed that little pup. Because if George finds out about it, George wouldn’t let him feed the rabbits at the farm they were going to buy.

George and Lennies  relationship

I think that Lennie loves George alot, and I think George loves Lennie too and wants to live/work with him. Because Lennie offers George to be alone and himself will find a cave to live in. But George sais no to the offer. I think that George still loves Lennie after what he did to Curley’s wife, but Lennie just make to much trouble for George, so at last George kills Lennie. I think George killed Lennie because George gets in alot of trouble because of Lennie, and that he just cant take it any more.

Oppgaven: Du lever i Øst-Tyskland under den kalde krigen. Du har en datter som skal begynne på universitetet. Hun har gode karakterer og alt ligger til rette for at hun skal komme inn på Universitetet i Berlin. Så sier imidlertid Stasi sier at du må bli informant for dem ellers vil ikke din datter få plassen på universitetet. Hvilket valg tar du?

Før jeg starter er det to ord jeg vil forklare.

-Stasi

-Informant

-Stasi var det hemmelige politiet i Øst-Tyskland

-Informant: Å være informant vil si at du gir informasjon til Stasi

I mine øyne har man tre forskjellige valmuligheter. 

1. Bli informant, og fortelle Stasi om alt jeg ser rundt meg.

2. Bli informant, og velge å ikke fortelle Stasi om alt

3. Velge å ikke bli informant.

Valgmulighet 1

Det er en dårlig løsning i forhold til de etniske modellene, fordi det kan skape konsikvenser for folk rundt deg. Hvis man føger konsekvensetikk til punkt og prikke er det ikke viktigst å se konsekvenser for deg selv, men for andre. I tilfellet i oppgaven over ville denne valgmuligheten være et godt valg for meg selv, mens andre må kanskje lide for det valget jeg har tatt. Dette valget ville også vært feil i forhold til pliktetikk fordi at pliktetikken sier at man ikke skal tyste på andre.

Valgmulighet 2

Hvis jeg velger å bruke denne valgmuligheten kunne jeg informert til Stasi at alt er fint når det egentlig ikke var det. Da hadde i dette tilfellet datteren min fått komme inn på universitetet, og ingen ting hadde skjedd med meg. Eller hadde det? Hvis jeg ikke informerer om noe viktig som skjer og Stasi finner ut av det, ville de ha straffet meg hardt, kanskje til og med drept meg. 

Så konsekvensene av dette valget ville bare gått utover meg, og det er er et godt valg i forhold til konsekvensetikk. Det ville også vært et godt valg innenfor pliktetikk fordi jeg informerer ikke noe om vennene mine, og hvis noe hadde skjedd hadde alt gått utover meg.

Valgmulighet 3

Å velge å ikke informere ville vært dumt for meg, siden da hadde ikke datteren min fått gått på universitetet. Men det er et veldig godt valg i følge pliktetikk fordi det er det rette å gjøre i følge normer. Og det er galt å tyste på andre som ikke har gjort noen verdens ting.

Også er denne valgmuligheten et godt valg i forhold til konsekvensetikk, fordi at det går ikke ut over noen andre, utenatt meg selv da så klart.

Hva ville jeg valgt?

Jeg ville nok ha valgt valgmulighet 3. Rett og slett fordi jeg syns det er helt galt å tyste på noen som ikke har gjort noen verdens ting. Det eneste dumme med dette valget er at datteren min ikke hadde fått gått på universitetet. Valgmulighet 2 er også fristene men det er veldig risikabelt i forhold til at hvis Stasi hadde funnet ut av noe jeg ikke hadde informert om ville de ha straffet meg hardt, kanskje til og med drept meg.

The Vietnam War

.What was North and South Vietnam arguing about?

-The Northern Vietnam wanted to make Vietnam a communist controlled country, while Southern Vietnam wanted the oppusite.

.When did the war happend, and how long did it last?

-The war startet the 1st of november 1955 and lasted for 19 years to 30th of april 1975.

.What did USA do in the Vietnam war?

- USA was on Southern Vietnams side, the U.S military had many airplanes that they used to bomb North Vietnam. North Vietnam had nobody in their side, so they had to fight on their own.

.Who won the war?

- The North Vietnam won because the U.S military dropped out of the war in 1973. After they left the war the Southern side didn´t have enough power to continue the war.
